There has been an increase in the number of reported cases of teenagers who use creatine supplements on TV and newspapers. Most of those caught using them are teenagers who reside in high school institutions. Most of these institutions have imposed a ban on the use of creatine on its premises; therefore those caught with them are usually face very dire disciplinary measures. Although creatine have been banned from this institutions the reason behind it has nothing to do with there legality or that they are dangerous. Creatines are not dangerous to a person’s health and they have not been illegalized by any state that I know of.
The only reported incidences of side effects as a result of using creatine are mild stomach discomforts. However not everyone will experience this stomach discomforts some people have a genetic make up which is resistant to this side effect.
The reason I am writing this article is to tell you that creatine is not a type of steroid as other people might tend to believe. Steroids have the effect of causing the following side effects; enlargement of the clitoris, irregularity of the menstrual cycle, growth of facial hair in women, shrinking of testicles in men, low sperm count, decrease in libido, baldness, kidney problems, liver conditions, heart ailments, insomnia, increase in aggression, and depression. There is no way you can experience the following side effects when you take creatine.
Creatine is a type of natural supplement that has been uses by many bodybuilders both men and women worldwide without any reported incidence of major side effects. If you are not above the age of eighteen it is not recommended that you use creatine supplements. Most of the teenagers who use them fall below this age group and that is why many will not like what they read in this article. However do not get dismayed because this does not seriously affect your chances of transforming your body through bodybuilding as a teenager. The thing is if you want to succeed in transforming your body as a teenager all you need is to eat the right nutrition and train properly. Bodybuilding supplements play a very small role as far as your muscle progress is concerned.
If you want to avoid creatine supplements as a teenager and still progress in your bodybuilding sport your diet should comprise of carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins. Proteins are the building blocks of muscles and they also contain plenty of calories. Carbohydrates on the other hand contain glycogen which is very essential in fueling the body to carry out intense training.
You need to take plenty of carbohydrates because the body usually burns carbs to generate energy, if your carbs stores are not sufficient the body reverts and starts burning protein reserves. When this happens the muscles will get depleted because there is not enough proteins.
The other thing you need to do in order to transform your body it to train using weights and undertaking techniques such as compound movements and progressive resistance training.
